<Duties>
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Curve, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to promote a positive experience.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly.
- Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when needed, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation efficiently.
- Operate advanced imaging tools like 3D scanners for precise diagnostics in complex cases such as implant planning or prosthodontics.
- Maintain infection control standards by adhering to OSHA guidelines and sterilization protocols across all clinical activities.
- Collaborate with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and patient care quality.
<Experience>
- Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
- Hands-on knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing electronic health records effectively.
- Skilled in taking X-rays, Itero scan, performing medical imaging, and understanding anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry.
- Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry cases is highly desirable, along with familiarity in pediatric-specific equipment and procedures.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and medical documentation confidentiality.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and dental terminology essential for maintaining high standards of safety and quality care.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and operate 3D scanners or other advanced diagnostic tools confidently.
