Registered Dental Assistant

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring an aseptic technique is maintained throughout all procedures.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.
  • Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding.
  • Monitor vital signs and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient assessments before procedures.
  • Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency and comfort during treatments.
  • Support the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient communication, and maintaining organized medical records.

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices essential for safe clinical operations.
  • Experience with EMR systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical documentation and records efficiently.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy at all times.
  • Skilled in taking X-rays (including 3D imaging), medical imaging interpretation, and performing vital signs assessments.
  • Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children in a dental setting.
  • Ability to perform endodontic, prosthodontic procedures, and general dentistry tasks with precision.
  • Familiarity with dental assisting techniques such as aseptic methods, chairside assisting, and infection control protocols.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
