Duties
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly using aseptic techniques
- Take X-ray images, including digital 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety protocols
- Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Archy to ensure accurate medical documentation and coding
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations
- Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries
- Maintain strict infection control standards by following OSHA guidelines and ensuring all clinical areas are clean and organized for safe practice
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure in the respective region or state
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment, with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Archy; familiarity with medical records management and medical coding is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology
- Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices safely and effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, providing compassionate care in pediatric dentistry settings
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Spanish speaking (not required by preferred)
