Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, and ensuring all supplies are stocked and organized.
- Take dental radiographs (X-ray imaging), ensuring adherence to infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) Dentrix to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical history.
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care in both general and pediatric dentistry settings.
- Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and dental terminology to foster understanding and compliance.
- Support administrative tasks such as dental receptionist duties by scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow efficiently.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with familiarity in medical terminology, and dental assisting procedures.
- Hands-on knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and medical imaging procedures.
- Skilled in operating dental software systems including Dentrix, for managing medical records and documentation accurately.
- Certification in X-ray safety and proficiency in taking radiographs; additional certifications in endodontics or prosthodontics are advantageous.
- Nitrous Monitoring Certification
- AHA BLS Certification
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient rapport; experience with 3D scanners is a bonus Cord packing, Invisalign and whitening. Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives through compassionate care and technical excellence!
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
