Registered Dental Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our vibrant dental team! As an RDA, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical operations of our busy dental practice. Your expertise in chairside assisting, infection control, and dental procedures will ensure our patients receive the highest quality treatment in a welcoming environment. Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, and endodontics with precision and professionalism.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained at all times.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Perform vital signs assessments and document medical history to support safe and effective treatment.
  • Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures tailored for pediatric dentistry when applicable.
  • Support administrative tasks including greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation or coding as needed.
  • Maintain infection control standards by adhering to OSHA guidelines and proper sterilization procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a fast-paced dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry preferred.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols essential for effective assistance.
  • Hands-on experience with dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation.
  • Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and the use of dental equipment such as 3D scanners and X-ray machines.
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining ALARA principles (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards related to medical records management and medical coding practices.
  • Strong understanding of aseptic technique, infection prevention measures, and anatomy knowledge necessary for high-quality patient care.
  • Previous experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable to foster a friendly environment for young patients.
