Registered Dental Assistant

Overview

Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth operation of our dental practice. As an energetic and detail-oriented professional, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure clinical excellence through proper sterilization and infection control practices. Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for procedures.
  • Assist dentists chairside during a variety of treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Manage patient records using Open Dental Patient Management Software to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Perform vital signs measurement and review medical histories to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Follow infection prevention management protocols including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards aligned with healthcare regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration as required by local regulations.
  • Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialty setting such as pediatric dentistry or oral surgery.
  • Proficiency with dental software systems including Open Dental; familiarity with patient management software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical documentation standards.
  • Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely following HIPAA guidelines and radiation safety protocols.
  • Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and dental sterilization procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient management and teamwork in a four-handed dentistry environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare infection control standards and medical terminology related to dentistry.

Pay: $24.00 - $40.00 per hour
