Dental Hygienist Job Description

Duties:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures such as cleaning teeth, removing plaque, and applying fluoride treatments
- Take dental x-rays to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral care instructions
- Conduct thorough patient assessments by reviewing medical history and addressing individual needs
- Assist the dentist during procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical coding and documentation
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care

Experience:
- Possess a valid dental hygiene license in Alabama
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Knowledge of dental office systems and procedures
- Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
