Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed meticulously.
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
• Manage patient records efficiently using EMR systems like open dental and dexis and note ai , ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and medical coding.
• Provide chairside assistance by managing vital signs, medical imaging, and assisting with four-handed dentistry to optimize workflow.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall dental health.
• Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist and maintaining organized medical records.
• Uphold infection control standards by following strict protocols for sterilization, handling of contaminated materials, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure in the respective jurisdiction.
• Proven experience working in general dentistry with exposure to pediatric dentistry preferred.
• Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures.
• Experience with X-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology.
• Familiarity with infection control procedures and aseptic techniques essential for patient safety.
• Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with complex procedures across various specialties like prosthodontics or endodontics.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
