Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team with the possibility of advancement to full time in the near future. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental assessments, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient management to ensure a comfortable experience for our patients.

Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
• Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate medical records for each patient visit.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental care.
• Maintain knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively treat younger patients.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in both general and pediatric dentistry settings.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a dental office or clinic environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with Open Dental and Tab32 software is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively during various dental procedures.
• Experience with documentation review, medical coding, and maintaining accurate medical records is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.
• Understanding of vital signs monitoring and basic medical terminology is essential.
