Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team with the possibility of advancement to full time in the near future. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental assessments, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient management to ensure a comfortable experience for our patients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Take and develop medical imaging, including X-rays, while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate medical records for each patient visit.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental care.
- Maintain knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively treat younger patients.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional patient care in both general and pediatric dentistry settings.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a dental office or clinic environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with Open Dental and Tab32 software is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively during various dental procedures.
- Experience with documentation review, medical coding, and maintaining accurate medical records is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.
- Understanding of vital signs monitoring and basic medical terminology is essential.
