  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
  • Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to strict infection control protocols
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and other preventive care strategies
  • Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times

Skills

  • Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry and pediatrics-focused patient care is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor
  • Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice
  • Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to diverse patient needs
  • Knowledge of general dentistry procedures
  • Willingness to expand skills with state of the art techniques

Pay: $37.00 - $48.19 per hour
