Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
• Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate patient information and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain sterile environments through aseptic techniques and proper infection control procedures.
• Use dental software systems such as Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft for charting, documentation review, and medical coding.
• Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, ensuring excellent patient care and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials.
• Proven experience in general dentistry setting preferred.
• Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, including Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft.
• Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy, and dental assisting practices.
• Ability to perform patient assessment skills such as vital signs measurement and medical history review accurately.
• Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively on oral health practices.
