We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and be adept in various dental procedures. This role is essential in providing high-quality dental hygiene services, ensuring patient comfort, and promoting oral health education. The successful candidate will work closely with both patients and the dental team to deliver exceptional care in a supportive environment. We are a privately owned office and are adding new associates to our team. We have two locations located in Lexington, Kentucky (Beaumont Dental Associates and Fayette Mall Dental). We offer 1-hour appointments for existing patients and 1.5 hours for new patients. The office is stocked with sharp instruments and Cavitrons. Hours are flexible!
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings and assessments for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry.
- Utilize Eaglesoft software for patient documentation and record management.
- Conduct vital signs assessments and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in chairside procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized patient care plans based on thorough assessments.
- Stay updated on dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes to ensure accurate billing and record-keeping.
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
- Proficient knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control standards.
- Anesthesia certificate is required - as we see multiple periodontal patients.
- Knowledge with Eaglesoft is preferred; but willing to train.
- Experience with EMR systems for efficient patient documentation is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to perform medical imaging as required during patient assessments.
