BASIC FUNCTION: The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is an integral member of the Adult Cancer Center at U-M Health. RDN will: Oversee nutritional care for patients in the Head and Neck Clinic, the Symptoms Management Clinic and the Adult Cancer Clinic. Provide medical nutrition therapy to address symptom management, to improve weight/health status for optimal tolerance of treatment and to promote healthy eating for cancer prevention. Recommend, monitor and adjust tube feedings for patients who require specialized enteral nutrition support. Provide nutrition care for referrals such as head and neck cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, stomach cancer, and all other cancer diagnoses seen in our Cancer Center. Provide medical nutrition therapy for symptom management and long-term survivorship. Demonstrate flexibility in job role to meet patient, unit and organizational needs.
The RDN provides service to adult patients over the age of 18 years.

WORK HOURS: The person who fills this role will be asked to work 24 hours per week, no weekend or evening hours are required.
WORK LOCATION: Hybrid : Work a split week onsite and remotely; the workforce member's work can be accomplished both remotely and onsite and will vary based on the job activities.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
