Sarah Lynn Nutrition is onboarding exceptional Registered Dietitians across the country. At Sarah Lynn Nutrition, we support both full-time and part-time providers. We help you build your practice by proving support on everything from insurance credentialing and claim submission to patient marketing to allow you to maximize your time counseling patients.

Job Overview:
The private practice dietitian at Sarah Lynn Nutrition provides evidence-based nutritional counseling and dietary intervention to patients. Sarah Lynn Nutrition takes a patient-centered approach and supports patients in achieving their individualized health and wellness goals in pursuit of living their best life. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, thorough knowledge of nutrition education, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment:
- Conduct initial consultations to assess patients’ dietary habits, health status, medical history, and nutritional needs.
- Use various tools and methodologies to evaluate patients' nutritional requirements and health goals.
Nutritional Counseling:
- Develop individualized nutrition intervention and provide tailored dietary advice based on patients' needs and preferences.
- Educate patients about nutrition principles, healthy eating habits, and lifestyle modifications.
- Monitor patients’ progress and adjust meal plans as needed to ensure optimal results.
Patient Support:
- Offer ongoing support and motivation to patients, helping them adhere to their dietary plans.
- Provide follow-up consultations to evaluate progress and address any challenges or changes in health status.
- Utilize behavior change strategies to assist patients in making sustainable dietary improvements.
Collaboration and Referral:
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, therapists, and fitness trainers, to provide comprehensive care.
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists when nutritional issues require additional medical attention.
Business Development/Management (if applicable):
- Market services through various channels to attract new patients and grow the practice.
- Create educational content
- Stay updated on industry trends and continuing education to maintain professional credentials and enhance service offerings.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education and Credentials:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential, as required by local regulations.
- State licensure or certification, if applicable.
Experience:
- Experience in clinical or community nutrition, preferably with direct patient counseling experience.
- Experience in a private practice setting is a plus but not required.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of nutrition science and dietary guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to develop customized nutrition plans and provide effective counseling.
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple patients and administrative tasks.
- Proficiency with nutrition assessment tools and software.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid- ~50% time spent in (Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo, Albany - whichever you live closest to) office + ~50% time spent conducting remote consultations via Healthie telehealth platform
- Flexible hours to accommodate patients’ schedules.
- Fully remote positions available for providers who live outside of Upstate NY
