Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring the well-being of patients in various healthcare settings.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Monitor and assess post-operative patients for complications, pain levels, and recovery progress.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including pain management and wound care.
  • Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care delivered to patients.
  • Refer patients to the Family Medicine physician or overnight General Practitioner (GP) as clinically indicated.
  • Request and process sick leave documentation for patients in coordination with the treating physician.
  • Educate patients and families on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and follow-up plans.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and documentation in the hospital’s electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Respond to emergencies and escalate care when necessary.
  • Adhere to infection control standards and hospital protocols at all times.
  • Accepts accountability for own actions and decision-making, and for the related outcome.
  • Maintains and promotes customer satisfaction through effective customer service.
  • Provide supervision and training to other team members according to their competence.

Competency (knowledge, skills, & abilities)

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a surgical or inpatient setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid QCHP license in good standing.
