ICU / ER / LDR / NURSERY/ OBGYNE EXPERINCES - REGISTERED NURSE
Job Purpose:
Responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care that transforms lives through excellent evidence-based
practices to patients in a clinical setting. The role includes assessing patient health problems and needs,
developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. The Registered Nurse works
closely with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Clinical Duties:
- Conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patient's health, including physical examinations, taking vital signs, and monitoring symptoms.
- Develops, implements, and updates individualized care plans based on patient assessments and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Administers medications and treatments as physicians prescribe and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Provides care for wounds, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring for signs of infection.
- Assists physicians and other healthcare professionals during medical procedures and diagnostic tests.
- Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive measures.
- Observe and record patients' conditions, including changes in symptoms or behaviors, and report any significant changes to the medical team.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
- Conducts purposeful rounding for patients to ensure their needs are met, prevent complications, and improve overall care quality.
- Adhere to strict infection control standards, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE)
use, and proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Participate in infection control surveillance and reporting to help prevent facility-acquired infection.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the patient items and equipment as per Fakeeh Care policies.
- Follow established protocols for different emergencies (e.g., codes, and RRT), ensuring patient safety and effective response.
- Innovate in patient care and implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
2. Administrative Duties:
- Maintains accurate and detailed patient care records, including observations, interventions, and
responses.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient care is continuous and integrated.
3. Supportive Duties:
- Provides emotional support to patients and their families, addressing concerns and offering reassurance during stressful times.
- Advocates for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring that their rights are respected, and their voices are heard.
- Participates in ongoing education and training to stay current with medical practices and advancements.
- Respect diverse cultural backgrounds and incorporate patient values and beliefs into care planning.
4. Oversees the work of junior staff and nursing students and provides guidance and support as needed
5. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care
6. Identifies and addresses issues or challenges in patient care and contributes to solutions and improvements in practice
7. Other duties as assigned by the nursing manager within the scope of the job
Job Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and service-oriented
- Manages work pressure and teamwork skills
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Typing and more)
- Clerical skills (Preparing agenda and taking minutes of meetings, scanning
documents, and more
Experience:
Minimum of one year of clinical experience
RN resident: Staff with less than one year of experience will go through the RN
residency program (Fakeeh Graduate)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent
Language: Excellent command of the English language and Arabic is a plus.
Licenses / Certifications:
License from the country of origin, License for practice as per the regional health
regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS / DHA), BLS, ACLS and other LSTC courses as
applicable.
