Registered Nurse, IDD Services
South Austin, TX
Salary: $80,000
Schedule: Monday through Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We are seeking an RN for our South Austin team! This role is centered around nursing case management rather than a hospital or ER setting. If you are looking for a position where you are not on your feet all day and not working 12-hour shifts, this is an excellent opportunity. This position offers a unique blend of in-office and field-based work (approximately 50/50). You will use your own vehicle to travel to local group homes and day programs, with mileage reimbursement provided.
You will be working alongside a collaborative and supportive team consisting of a Director of Nursing (DON), two additional RNs, one LVN, and one administrative support team member.
Conduct annual comprehensive nursing assessments
Implement and monitor individualized health care plans
Facilitate clinic visits with individuals and their primary care providers (PCPs)
Follow up on needed appointments and medical recommendations
Respond to changes in condition and communicate updates appropriately
Communicate with physicians and external medical centers to ensure continuity of care
Provide medical oversight, technical assistance, and training to staff
Provide input regarding health care services included in each individual’s service plan
Monitor and ensure physician orders are documented and carried out as prescribed
Travel between multiple locations to provide support and be accessible to staff
Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM schedule
No 12-hour shifts

Graduate of an accredited RN program
Minimum one year of experience working with the population we serve
Current Texas RN license
Current driver’s license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, medical professionals, individuals served, and their families
