Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care across diverse medical settings. Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Long-Term Care (LTC)

Location: Sibley, IA – Osceola Senior Living

• Duration: 12 weeks can be extended
• Schedule: 12-hour Overnight shifts
• Rotation: Every 3rd weekend and holidays

Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to determine individual needs.
• Administer medications and injections with precision, including IV infusions and immunizations, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques.
• Manage complex care procedures such as wound suturing, catheterization, ventilator management, and ostomy care to support patient recovery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care plans by collaborating with physicians, therapists, and case managers to ensure seamless treatment delivery.
• Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide patient education on medication administration, nutrition, pain management strategies, and post-discharge care instructions.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies in various settings including emergency rooms, trauma centers (Level I & II), ICU units, or during critical care transport situations.
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing and imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when needed.
• Support infection control protocols and adhere to NCQA standards to uphold safety and quality of care across all environments.
• Engage in discharge planning and case management activities to facilitate smooth transitions from hospital to home or long-term care facilities.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Registered Nurse in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, ICU (including PICU), emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics.
• Demonstrated expertise working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays in settings like assisted living or memory care.
• Hands-on experience with advanced nursing procedures including trauma medicine, cardiac catheterization support, dialysis management, or neurovascular assessments.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9).
• Prior involvement in acute pain management, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health interventions or geriatrics is highly desirable.
• Critical care experience within Level I or Level II trauma centers is preferred for handling complex cases efficiently.
• Knowledge of Workers' Compensation Law applicable to occupational health nursing roles; experience in medical-surgical units is advantageous.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are a plus.
