Job Description

This position is eligible for a $3,000 recruitment bonus - Current state employees are not eligible for recruitment payments upon transfer, demotion, or promotion to another agency.

• Registered Nurse duties in a correctional facility performs professional nursing role similar to outpatient services in the community.
• Registered nurses participate in the management of the nursing care of patients within a health care environment; provide clinical leadership and assist practitioners; plans and conducts educational sessions, including teaching that requires a registered nursing license; administers medication, triage patient complaints and coordinates the care of residents in a correctional environment with multi-disciplinary team which includes physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, optometrists & dentists

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Iowa by the Iowa Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact Administrator's Agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

Compact license holders are required to obtain an Iowa license within 60 days
