Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering patient-centered care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to promote optimal health outcomes, patient safety, and satisfaction. This role requires clinical competence, critical thinking, compassion, and adherence to legal and ethical nursing standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments of patients' physical, psychological, and social needs.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheterizations, and other clinical procedures as per scope of practice.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient condition; take appropriate action in emergencies.

Care Coordination

  • Coordinate patient care activities, including diagnostic tests, procedures, consultations, and discharge planning.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, medications, self-care, and follow-up needs.
  • Facilitate safe transitions of care (e.g., hospital to home, skilled nursing facility, or rehabilitation).
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, social workers, and other disciplines to ensure continuity of care.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic health records (EHR) per legal and organizational standards.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, nursing audits, and evidence-based practice projects.
  • Ensure compliance with state Nurse Practice Act, facility policies, and accreditation standards (e.g., The Joint Commission).

Professional Development

  • Maintain current nursing license and required certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS as applicable).
  • Attend mandatory in-services, staff meetings, and continuing education programs.
  • Precept or mentor new graduate nurses, student nurses, or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned.

QualificationsEducation

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. (BSN preferred for certain settings.)

Licensure & Certification

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of [State Name].
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current).
  • Additional certifications as required by unit:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Experience

  • years of clinical nursing experience preferred (or entry-level for new graduates).
  • Specialty certification (e.g., CCRN, CEN, RN-BC) is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking.
  • Proficient in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and delegate appropriately.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with cultural competence.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for up to 12 hours.
  • Push/pull equipment (e.g., beds, stretchers, IV poles).
  • Lift and transfer patients with or without assistance (up to 35 lbs unassisted; more with ergonomic equipment/team lift).
  • Manual dexterity for fine motor tasks (IV insertion, medication preparation).
  • Visual and auditory acuity to monitor equipment and assess patients.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: QAR85,000.00 - QAR150,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
