Schedule: Day shift, 6:30 AM 7:00 PM
Total Working Hours per week: 36 hours

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Registered Nurse Medical/Surgical for a 13-week day shift assignment in Utica, NY. This role supports adult Med/Surg patients on the 6th floor, including post-surgical care and patients with abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and bariatric surgery needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients.

• Support post-surgical care and recovery needs.

• Monitor patient status and respond to clinical changes.

• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered.

• Manage IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding tubes as needed.

• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC.

• Communicate effectively with providers, patients, families, and care teams.

• Float to other units as required.

• Follow facility policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.

Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse license required.

• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience required.

• Travel experience required.

• Current AHA BLS required.

• EPIC experience required.

• NURSYS license verification required for active NY license and all active RN licenses.

• Updated resume must include Med/Surg experience and travel experience.

• Skills checklist matching specialty required.

• Driver's license address must match demographics.

• RTO must be included at time of submission.

• Must be willing to float as needed.

• Navy blue scrubs required.

• Local and travel candidates accepted; local rate applies within 75 miles.
