Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine individual care needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and medication administration.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks to document patient information meticulously and ensure seamless medical documentation.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures such as laboratory specimen collection/processing, catheterization, suturing, and sterile processing techniques.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex conditions including trauma medicine at Level I or Level II trauma centers, ICU or PICU patients, hospice & palliative medicine cases, or those requiring acute pain management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, pediatrics, or home & community care to develop and implement tailored treatment plans.
- Support infection control protocols and maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like ostomy care or wound management.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching topics such as nutrition, chronic disease management (including diabetes and infectious disease care), medication adherence, and discharge planning.
- Participate in triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room settings to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements (ICD-9/10).
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse license in good standing with relevant state licensing boards.
- Proven experience in diverse healthcare environments such as hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU), emergency rooms, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for efficient documentation and patient tracking.
- Competency in performing IV insertions, phlebotomy (blood draws), venipuncture, tube feeding management, airway management including ventilator support if applicable.
- Familiarity with specialized procedures such as cardiac catheterization support or dialysis nursing is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; experience in geriatrics or dementia/dementia care is advantageous.
- Critical care experience including ICU or trauma center exposure is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for patient assessment and education across age groups—from pediatric to geriatric populations—while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting Hoyer lifts or assisting with mobility aids like Hoyer lifts. Pay: $42.48 - $51.16 per hour
