Position- Registered nurse
Location – Biloela, Queensland
Contract Hours: 76 hours per fortnight
Location: Modified Monash Model (MMM) 4
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Nurse Grade 5). The role requires proven ability to work independently in rural and emergency settings, with a commitment to delivering high-quality care across all shifts.
- Provide advanced clinical care including triage, resuscitation, IV cannulation, and emergency response.
- Deliver nursing services within rural health contexts, including acute and emergency care.
- Be available as nurse on call as rostered.
- Comply with CQHHS operational standards, policies, and mandatory training requirements.
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, patient-centred care.
- Advanced Life Support certification.
- Strong background in Emergency Nursing and Rural Health.
- Demonstrated ability in triage, resuscitation, and IV cannulation.
- Current General Criminal History Check.
- Drivers Licence: Not required.
- Must agree to an 8-hour shift break between rosters.
Candidates must provide the following documentation for consideration:
- Current Resume (with relevant and recent work experience).
- One from a line manager within the last 6 months.
- One from a senior nurse (grade level higher) within the last 12 months.
- Photo Identification: Valid passport or driver’s licence (current, not expired).
- AHPRA Registration (current).
- Australian National Police Check (valid for 3 years, aged care check required for MPHS/aged care).
- Immunisation Records: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hep B, Pertussis (within last 10 years).
Note: CQHHS does not accept expired documents or incomplete submissions.
- Annually: Basic Life Support, Child Abuse Neglect, Code of Conduct, Cyber Security, Fire/First Response Evacuation, Hand Hygiene, Infection Control, Medication Safety.
- Every 2 years: BloodSafe Clinical Transfusion, Fraud Control Awareness.
- Every 3 years: Domestic Family Violence (Recognise, Respond, Refer).
- Every 5 years: Cultural Awareness (First Nations – Cultural Safety).
- Once only: Occupational Violence Awareness, Patient Handling Fundamentals, Infection Prevention Control, Work Health Safety.
- Accommodation: Shared accommodation provided (not always on-site).
- Travel expenses must be approved by CQHHS in writing and in advance.
- Travel must occur within 2 days before or after the contract start and end dates.
- Reimbursements outside this timeframe require prior written approval.
