Registered Nurse Pre-Op/PACU - FULL TIME

The Capital Region Ambulatory Surgery Center, located at the Bone and Joint Center, is looking for FULL TIME Registered Nurses to work in the PRE-OP/PACU department.

The Capital Region Ambulatory Surgery Center is a state-of-the-art facility that provides orthopaedic surgical and pain management services. Our center, which opened its doors in November 2000, is fully equipped with six operating rooms. Our center employs a tremendous team focused solely on the care of its patients. Our surgery center is committed to provide the highest standard of orthopaedic surgical care in a professional, compassionate, and considerate manner specific to the individual needs of our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Admit patient to pre-operative care area.
• Completes pre-operative assessment upon admission.
• Verifies correct physician orders.
• Effectively administer medication while working along side the anesthesia team and physicians.
• Ability to closely monitor patients while under sedation and post-surgery.
• Prepare patient and patient area for designated procedure.
• Effectively communicates with co-workers, anesthesia and OR team.
• Efficiently admit post-surgical patient to PACU.
• Monitor post-surgical patient per facility protocol.
• Provide patient/family teaching and instructions post-operatively for discharge to home.

Qualifications include:

• Minimum of 1-2 years in med/surg/ICU
• Previous work experience in an ambulatory surgery setting, acute hospital recovery room/operating room preferred but not required
• Current ACLS and BLS required
• Current licensure in NYS as a Registered Nurse

Position will require schedule flexibility to meet the needs of the facility.
Positions are Full Time days, Mon-Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm, no weekend, no call, no holiday!

Pay: $40.00 - $52.00 per hour
