Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in various settings, including Rehabilitation facilities, nursing homes, and assisted living.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to changes in their condition.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and families on health management, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, suturing, and wound care as needed.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in nursing.
Skills
Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills:
- Familiarity with various medical procedures including dialysis, tube feeding, phlebotomy, and airway management.
- Ability to work with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Experience in long-term care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Strong assessment skills for acute pain management and behavioral health issues.
- Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
- Capability to provide specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin treatment or dermal fillers if applicable.
