Registered Nurse (RN) – Hospice Survey Consultant / Potential Director of Nursing

Gentle Hands Hospice Inc is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Registered Nurse (RN) with hospice experience to assist our new hospice agency in preparing for and successfully completing the CMS survey process.

The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in guiding the agency through survey readiness, compliance, policies, clinical documentation, and operational preparation. This position may later transition into a permanent operational leadership role, including Director of Nursing (DON), for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support hospice agency preparation for CMS/state survey
• Assist with compliance, policies, procedures, and clinical documentation
• Ensure readiness for accreditation and regulatory requirements
• Provide guidance on hospice operations and standards of care
• Train and support clinical staff as needed
• Help establish strong operational and clinical workflows

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with no suspensions or disciplinary actions
• Minimum hospice care experience required
• Strong knowledge of CMS hospice regulations and survey process
• Previous leadership or Director of Nursing experience preferred
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and guide a startup agency environment

Opportunity

This position may evolve into a long-term operational leadership role, including Director of Nursing (DON), depending on candidate interest and performance.
