Department Highlights
Our experienced and compassionate team in Cardiac Cath / IR Lab care for patients with Cardiac, Peripheral Vascular or Electrophysiology related disease. Additionally, we offer Interventional Radiology procedures such as vascular access, biliary and urinary interventions, and venous and arterial thrombectomy. For our clinical staff, we require a 30-minute call response time which included STEMI call.
We are a Magnet designated facility, Joint Commission certified in chest pain, heart failure and stroke, certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Texas Ten Step Member Mother Friendly Worksite.
Education
Here’s What You Need
Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
Experience
One (1) year experience as a clinical Registered Nurse or completion of an RN Residency program required
Licensure And Certifications
RN- Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) required and
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within ninety (90) days required
Skills

A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations
What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

Assesses the patient

Plans the care of the patient

Intervenes as appropriate and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care

Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
