Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor and Delivery Unit. This role will be full-time night shift 3x12 hour shifts per week, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in a patient- and family-centered manner.
  • Performs thorough patient assessments, interprets data, and identifies care priorities.
  • Develops and implements individualized plans of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Evaluates patient progress, anticipates changes, and adjusts care plans accordingly.
  • Coordinates care and discharge planning with the healthcare team and community resources.
  • Advocates for patients’ rights and ensures their needs and preferences are respected.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in compliance with standards.
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and other disciplines.
  • Serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and preceptor to peers and new staff.
  • Engages in professional growth, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Required Experience: A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
  • Required Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
  • Licensure Requirement: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Proficient in Epic
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two years of recent RN experience in a Labor & Delivery unit
