MAJOR FUNCTION:

Provides nursing services to patients requiring care. Ability to assess the physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients. Develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care based on those assessments. Capable of delegating appropriate tasks and supervising ancillary staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • You must be enrolled in a BSN or MSN program from an accredited school of professional nursing within six months of hire or rehire and graduate on or before the third employment anniversary date into a nursing position. * BSN or MSN graduates preferred
    • Grandfathered Exemption of Educational Requirement:
  • Hired on or before May 31, 2013
  • - IMC
  • Hired on or before August 4, 2015 – IMCW
  • Hired on or before May 31, 2023 – IMCM
  • Previous experience in psychiatry.
  • Minimum of one year medical-surgical nursing preferable, but not essential.

Certification/Licensure:

  • Current registration with New Jersey Board of Nursing.
  • Welle certification required (will train).
  • BLS required.
  • National Certification preferred.
  • American Heart Association CPR required.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrates clinical knowledge, nursing competence, basic leadership skills and decision-making ability.
