Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team on the NOC (Night) shift. Duties
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs.
- Administer medications via various routes such as injections, IV infusions, and catheter care, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor patients using advanced equipment like ventilators and perform critical interventions in emergency situations, including airway management and acute pain management.
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Coordinate care plans with multidisciplinary teams, including case management for discharge planning and long-term care strategies.
- Conduct laboratory specimen collection and processing, utilizing laboratory experience to support diagnostic evaluation.
- Assist with specialized procedures such as catheterization, ostomy care, and gastrostomy tube feeding in accordance with best practices.
- Support patients across various settings including hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, hospice & palliative medicine, and home & community care environments.
- Engage in triage activities to prioritize urgent cases in emergency or urgent care settings while working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures and diagnoses.
- Experience in diverse clinical areas such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Level I & II Trauma Centers, neonatal units (Neonatal ventilator), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and surgical centers including OR experience.
- Skilled in IV insertion and infusion therapy; familiar with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Capable of performing diagnostic evaluations using laboratory tests or sonography; familiar with medical imaging procedures like mammography or gastroscopy when applicable.
- Adept at working with individuals with disabilities or complex needs such as those requiring hospice & palliative support.
