Job Summary and Qualifications

The purpose of the Supervisor is to assist in providing leadership to the Endoscopy Department. The Supervisor provides feedback regarding patient care, patient satisfaction, budgetary and strategic planning opportunities for improvement. They ensure policies and procedures are followed and regulatory quality checks are completed as necessary. They provide professional nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and collaborates with other members of the health care delivery team including physicians, to deliver quality health care.

• Supports, maintains and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel.
• Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.
• Serves as the patient and family advocate with respect to the patient’s right to privacy by protecting confidential information.
• Plans and implements patient care and teaching based on a total assessment and the age of the patient.
• Evaluates and documents patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on assessment of the patient.
• Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing- required
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing- preferred

Experience

• A minimum of one year RN experience in Endoscopy or Surgery in acute care setting (required)
• Experience as a Charge RN or RN Supervisor in Endoscopy (preferred)

License & Certifications

• Registered Nurse license in Texas or compact state.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
• PALS certification
