Registered Pharmacist

Job Summary

The Registered Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescribed medicines to patients with accuracy and care, ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards. The role also involves patient counseling, maintaining inventory, and supporting overall pharmacy operations to ensure safe and effective medication management.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispense prescriptions accurately and efficiently as per doctor's orders.
• Verify dosage, possible drug interactions, and contraindications before dispensing.
• Provide patient counseling on medication use, and storage. age, side effects, ↓
• Maintain and update patient medication records as required.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and labeling of drugs.
• Maintain stock levels, check expiry dates, and support inventory control.
• Comply with Drug & Cosmetics Act, Pharmacy Act, and other statutory requirements.
• Assist in procurement and liaise with suppliers when required.
• Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of patient prescriptions.
• Support quality assurance and participate in audits/inspections.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) / Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from a recognized institute.
• Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration (R.Ph).
• Strong knowledge of drugs, dosage, and legal regulations.
• Excellent communication and counseling skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
• Ability to work in a team and handle patients with empathy.
