Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, Los Angeles, CA

Schedule: Full-time; 8-hour shifts (day or night). No overtime or federal holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy services, including airway management and mechanical ventilation
• Administer oxygen therapy, bronchodilators, mucolytics, and medical gases
• Set up and manage CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP systems
• Respond to Rapid Response and emergency situations
• Monitor patient respiratory status and recognize need for medical intervention
• Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records
• Comply with VA privacy, safety, infection control, and quality standards
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC)
• Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner license
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (1 year critical care required)
• Current CPR and ACLS certification
• Ability to pass VA credentialing, background checks, and health screening
