The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides essential respiratory and cardiopulmonary care to patients across a variety of clinical settings. This role is critical in delivering timely, life-saving interventions while supporting patients with complex respiratory conditions.
Working as part of a collaborative healthcare team, the RRT applies clinical expertise, critical thinking, and compassionate care to assess, treat, and monitor patients. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in high-acuity environments while contributing to improved patient outcomes and overall quality of care.
Provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients with conditions such as COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and other cardiopulmonary disorders
Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient respiratory status and overall clinical condition
Deliver respiratory therapies and interventions based on physician orders and patient needs
Monitor and manage patients receiving ventilatory support
Identify and respond promptly to changes in cardiopulmonary status
Support rapid intervention during emergent and critical care situations
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated patient care
Communicate clearly and effectively regarding patient status and treatment plans
Anticipate patient and team needs in a fast-paced clinical environment
Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, therapies, and care plans
Facilitate group education sessions when appropriate
Support patient engagement and promote long-term health outcomes
Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards, patient safety goals, and best practices
Participate in quality initiatives and required education programs
Uphold organizational values and maintain a strong commitment to patient-centered care
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Oregon
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
Strong clinical knowledge and foundational respiratory care skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
CRASE training preferred (required if assignment exceeds six months)
Experience in acute care or critical care settings
Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and decision-making skills
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
On-site position
Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
