Position Summary
The RCP IV will be expected to focus in critical care areas, participate in research, lead patient education activities and function as a mentor to the AAS degree RCP's. The RCP IV will have advanced knowledge, critical thinking skills, professional development, and critical care expertise of Respiratory Care procedures. They will be involved in assisting
with case management and the discharge planning processes. They will be called on to function as chronic pulmonary
patient navigators.
Minimum Requirements
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification
  • Associate Degree or higher in an approved CoARC program for Respiratory Care
  • Active licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire and is maintained yearly.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • American Heart Association ACLS,
  • if not current at time of hire, must complete within first 6 months of Employment and maintained.If working in the Children's hospital you are required to have AHA PALS and NRP in place of the AHA ACLS and you must have completed the NBRC NPS exam by 12 months from your orientation end date.
  • For non-medical center Respiratory care departments AHA BLS and ACLS are required. AHA PALS and NRP are required at 6 months from hire date.

Clinical Ladder Pay Range
Pay Range begins at $31.50 per hour

15K OR 30K Commitment Bonus Available

ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.
