Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide high quality cardiopulmonary and respiratory care to residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.

Duties Include:

• Assess, interview, and examine patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop respiratory treatment plans
• Manage respiratory therapy treatments and interventions
• Monitor patient progress and document clinical outcomes
• Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory treatments and equipment usage
• Operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, oxygen concentrators, CPAP/BIPAP machines, and airway management equipment
• Support pulmonary rehabilitation and respiratory wellness initiatives
• Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• Current RRT credential in good standing
• Current BLS certification required
• Strong communication and clinical assessment skills
• New graduates encouraged to apply
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, ICU, pulmonary rehab, LTACH, or ventilator care is helpful but not required
• Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and clinical teams
