Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) or Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM as per facility needs)
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3–4 days per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (including holidays based on rotation)
Important Notes:
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles away from the facility
- Block scheduling or fixed schedules are not available
- Pediatric experience preferred
We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing a wide range of respiratory therapies and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Administer respiratory therapies including:
- Positive pressure therapy
- Aerosol treatments
- Oxygen therapy
- Monitor patient response and adjust treatments as necessary
- Assist physicians with:
- Initiation and maintenance of mechanical ventilation
- Advanced airway management
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when required
- Conduct pulmonary function tests
- Perform radial arterial punctures for blood gas analysis
- Monitor and interpret patient respiratory status
- Deliver high-quality care to patients in acute care settings
- Perform the majority of respiratory care functions independently
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to clinical protocols
- Associate’s Degree (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy
- Current New York State license/registration as a Respiratory Therapist
- Minimum 2 years of clinical acute care experience post-degree
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance
- Pediatric respiratory care experience
- Experience in high-acuity or critical care environments
- Proficiency in respiratory therapy procedures and patient monitoring
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
