Registered Nurse: Comprehensive Medical and Aesthetic Care
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Consultation and Assessment: Conduct thorough patient health assessments, take medical histories, record vital signs, and evaluate suitability for medical and aesthetic treatments. Discuss patient goals and manage expectations for outcomes.
- Procedure Assistance and Administration: Assist doctors/plastic surgeons during medical and aesthetic procedures, and perform minimally invasive cosmetic procedures independently where licensed to do so. These may include:
- Administering injections (Botox, dermal fillers, vitamin infusions).
- Performing laser treatments (hair removal, skin rejuvenation, pigmentation issues).
- Conducting skin treatments (chemical peels, microdermabrasion).
- Assisting with minor surgical procedures.
- Pre- and Post-Treatment Care: Provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedure care and detailed aftercare instructions to patients to ensure optimal results and minimize complications.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and clinical documentation in the EMR system, adhering strictly to patient confidentiality, health, and safety guidelines (e.g., DHA/DOH regulations).
- Clinical Environment Management: Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, decontaminate and sterilize equipment, and manage stock availability and inventory of medical consumables and products.
- Patient Education: Serve as a patient educator, explaining treatment options, risks, and benefits in clear terms. Recommend appropriate skincare products and at-home routines.
- Collaboration and Professional Development: Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Stay current with advancements in medical and aesthetic medicine through ongoing training, workshops, and conferences.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education & License: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is often preferred, along with a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state/emirate of practice (e.g., DHA license in Dubai).
- Experience: Prior experience in aesthetic nursing, dermatology, or a related clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in performing general nursing duties (e.g., taking vitals, administering injections) and specialized aesthetic procedures.
- Anatomical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of facial and body anatomy to ensure safe and effective treatments.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills to build patient trust and ensure a positive experience.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail for precise procedures and accurate record-keeping.
- Soft Skills: Compassionate, professional, a team player, and the ability to handle potentially emotional patient expectations with empathy and problem-solving skills.
