Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered/Dental Assistant for a temporary two-month assignment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with the ability to adapt quickly to a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed consistently.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring accurate positioning and adherence to radiation safety protocols.
- Manage patient intake by taking vital signs, updating medical history, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits.
- Operate electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix or Epic for accurate medical documentation and record keeping.
- Support front desk operations by handling patient scheduling, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform dental laboratory tasks such as assisting with 3D scanner procedures or other medical imaging as required.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure the clinical environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA guidelines.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant license in accordance with state regulations.
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations and best practices for safeguarding patient information.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience performing chairside assisting during various dental procedures with competency in four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and accurately capture high-quality images; familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation practices related to dental care is desirable.
