Registration Clerk

Duties

• Greet patients and visitors warmly, establishing a positive first impression through excellent phone etiquette and professional demeanor
• Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and demographic data.
• Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper coding standards such as CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 for billing purposes
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers, to facilitate accurate billing and reimbursement processes
• Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as answering multi-line phone systems, managing office supplies, and supporting desk operations

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical office administration or clinic registration roles with familiarity in EMR system.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and insurance verification processes
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing accuracy (including 10-key typing)
• Ability to review medical documentation thoroughly while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
• Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
• Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
