program. Coordinates scheduling with the appropriate staff/practitioner, facilitates program development and accreditation activities. As a member of the program treatment team, conducts patient evaluations and provides treatment to program patients in the respective discipline.
GENERAL DUTIES

Supervision of departmental employees to include new employee orientation, competency assessment, performance evaluation and handling of personnel matters as delegated/designated by department manager/director:
- Provides supervision to all staff according to established guidelines, conducts annual performance appraisals and competencies in collaboration with the appropriate colleague/manager.
- Handles disciplinary issues according to hospital guidelines.
- Schedules employee and staff department in accordance with staffing plan and care/service needs to ensure accurate timekeeping.
- Provides clinical oversight and assistance to program staff. Monitors staff documentation, where applicable.
- Maintains employee accountability with all hospital policies and procedures.
- Participates in employee interviews and hiring decisions. Assists in the program orientation of new staff and contract personnel.

Facilitation and participation in program development and accreditation/re-accreditation:
- Maintains open communication with the leader(s) to ensure program needs are being met. Plans and organizes identified activities to develop the program.
- Participates in program meetings supporting the leader in establishing program goals.
- Delegates tasks to program staff to encourage participation and assures follow-through to completion.
- Assists in all accreditation/reaccreditation activities in the respective program.
- Provides input to budget.

Completion of patient evaluations/re-evaluations and treatment plans in their respective program:
- Completes the patient's initial evaluation within the appropriate time frame consistent with the patient's age and diagnosis.
- Identifies the patient's functional deficits, incorporates patient/family goals into the development of short-term and discharge goals.
- Completes the FIM data within designated timelines (Inpatient only).

Provision of treatment in the respective discipline:
- Provides treatment utilizing various interventions and techniques that are consistent with established goals, functional outcomes, patient's age and diagnosis. Manages caseload and meets established productivity goals.
- Works with patient/family and team members for discharge planning, recommends follow up services, completes arrangements for equipment and supplies.
- Provides educational materials, training appropriate to the patient's and family's level of understanding.

Documentation of interventions:
- Documents/describes a thorough picture of the patient's status. Adds progress notes and conducts reassessments as needed. Completes daily charge sheets consistent with the documentation.

Assurance of quality and appropriate treatment interventions to meet patient goals:
- Monitors treatment plans for all patients in the respective program. Communicates treatment plan to the respective patients under their care. Engages with admitting and consulting physicians as required.
- Participates in Performance Improvement activities.
