RDWSA are seeking an established RAM Engineer to join the Team on Parklife Metro!

Mission

About Us:

RATP Dev Western Sydney Airport (RDWSA) is a subsidiary of the RATP Group, global leader in high-capacity urban rail and the world's third largest public transport operator.

Our 25,000 people design, operate, maintain and modernize urban and interurban transportation networks. We serve more than 100 cities in 17 countries, delivering tailored mobility solutions that address each community’s unique environmental, social, and economic challenges.

We build, deliver and commit for the best of public transport - every day, everywhere, for everybody - to make it the natural choice for cities and passengers.

As a contractor to the Australian Federal and NSW governments, Parklife Metro is leading a transformative metro project connecting St Marys to Bradfield, linking with the new Western Sydney Airport.

The Parklife Metro (PLM) consortium made up of Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild is delivering the Stations, Systems, Trains and Operations & Maintenance (SSTOM) package of works for the Sydney Metro-Western Sydney Airport (SM-WSA) project.

RDWSA will proudly operate and maintain 6 new stations, 12 metro trains, core rail systems, and a state-of-the-art stabling and maintenance facility at Orchard Hills on the Western Sydney Airport metro line for 15 years after the line has become operational.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Asset Management Director, the RAM Engineer will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) systems, frameworks, and processes to support the ongoing operations and maintenance of the Western Sydney Airport Metro network.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement the RAM model and FRACAS processes for the O&M phase in accordance with national and international standards.
  • Prepare all required plans, procedures, standards, tools, and templates to support RAM and FRACAS implementation.
  • Lead the rollout of RAM frameworks across RDWSA, including data integrity, training, and change management.
  • Establish methods and processes for monitoring and reporting RAM performance of WSA assets.
  • Provide reliability assurance over proposed designs and deliver continuous improvement during operations.
  • Support system assurance, risk management, and asset management planning activities.
  • Contribute to TAO (Technically Assured Organisation) accreditation and interface with TfNSW and other stakeholders.
  • Support the integration of RAM requirements into the Asset Information System, ensuring alignment with data and maintenance systems.
  • Participate in verification, validation, and risk review processes to ensure operational readiness.
  • Provide technical input into design, commissioning, and ramp-up activities leading into passenger service.

    Profile

    About You:

You are an experienced RAM professional with a strong background in railway systems and a deep understanding of driverless metro operations and maintenance. You bring both technical depth and practical experience in developing and applying reliability frameworks that enhance system performance and safety.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

At least 10 years’ experience in the rail industry, with 5+ years in driverless metro O&M in a production or engineering leadership role.

    • Proven experience developing and implementing RAM systems and frameworks for operations and maintenance.
    • Strong understanding of RAM principles, including reliability modelling, RAM KPIs, and failure analysis (MTBF/MTTR).
    • Experience with FRACAS, reliability-centred maintenance, and life-cycle cost analysis.
    • Knowledge of systems assurance, risk management, and accreditation processes.
    • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Power Systems, or Computer Science.
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across internal and external stakeholders.
    • A quality-focused, proactive approach and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
