Reliability & Projects Engineer

Foxleigh Mine is located 15km south of Middlemount and approx. 275km northwest of Rockhampton. The mine is in its 25th year of operation producing premium PCI metallurgical coal for use in steel manufacturing. About the role

We are seeking a motivated Reliability & Projects Engineer to join our Maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving equipment reliability, managing condition monitoring programs, and delivering improvement projects that directly impact fleet performance and site infrastructure.

Working closely with our maintenance team and key suppliers, this role offers the opportunity to influence equipment strategy, identify cost saving initiatives, and play a hands on role in shaping the long term performance of Foxleigh's fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute the Reliability Process within the Work Management System (WMS).
• Provide expert advice and recommendations to the maintenance team on interpreting condition data.
• Report on fleet reliability and maintenance performance.
• Analyse downtime, productivity, and CMMS data to identify improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
• Lead the Equipment Health function with Hastings Deering, ensuring timely follow up of actions.
• Manage Cat 793NG tray wear, wear package, and chassis strain gauge programs.
• Oversee the site Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ensuring reliable operation and accurate reporting.
• Advise on Life Cycle Costing (LCC) strategy changes and conduct root cause analysis on failures to prevent reoccurrence.
• Identify, scope, and deliver both reliability and infrastructure improvement projects.

About You

• We're looking for an engineer who brings:
• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in maintenance reliability, fleet performance, or projects within mining or heavy industry.
• Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable outcomes.
• Knowledge of condition monitoring practices and CMMS systems (Pulse or similar).
• A proactive, problem solving mindset with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
