TITLE: Relief Congregate Site Coordinator
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Hourly, PT
DEPARTMENT: Nutrition Services
REPORTS TO: Director of Nutrition and Health Services
SALARY RANGE: $20.15 -$22.00 per hour
The Community Table sites provide nutritious meals and social interaction to seniors 60 and older, Monday-Friday, at various site locations throughout Sonoma County. A Coordinator operates the Community Table, and if available, volunteers assist. A Council on Aging driver delivers food for most but not all sites before service. Food must be tempted and served in compliance with the Title III-C Nutrition Program Standards and regulated by the Sonoma County Area Agency on Aging.
The Community Table Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the Community Table service, including but not limited to coordinating volunteers and enforcing AAA compliance. Additionally, in collaboration with the Director of Nutrition and Health Services, grow Community Table site participation through strategic outreach and marketing planning.
The position varies from Monday-Friday, 10:00 am - 2:30 pm, with the shift starting in Santa Rosa to gather supplies, then driving to the site located in Sonoma and returning to Santa Rosa to return supplies. Flexible scheduling may be necessary to attend meetings outside regular hours. Mileage is reimbursed for the usage of a person's personal vehicle. The relief coordinator will use the company vehicle when available. Driving is required for position through all weather conditions within reason.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that qualified clients requesting a meal receive a meal properly prepared and visually appealing.

Screen, qualify, train, and retain volunteers, and coordinate and schedule work for volunteers. Work with the Director of Volunteers to keep an up-to-date list of volunteers and to request needs.

Keep equipment clean and sanitized.
- Monitor the temperature of meals, as instructed, and complete temp logs.

Manage Community Table sites within budget parameters, AAA compliance, site objectives, signage, and organizational policies.

Communicate any changes on the roster and maintain accurate information.
- Provide information, reports, or other materials as the Director of Nutrition and Health Services requires.

Work with the Director of Nutrition and Health Services and Registered Dietician to ensure contract compliance.

Create and implement a plan for growing Community Table site numbers.

Collect lockbox and surveys from each Community Table site daily and return to the Director of Nutrition.

Distribute our Sonoma Seniors Today Newsletter and flyers to sites.

Maintain cleanliness at sites.

Maintain a food service certification (COA will pay for).

Assist with additional tasks as required by the Director of Nutrition Services.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Background check clearance

Food Safety Certification and CPR/AED Certification, or the ability to complete the course once hired and any additional training required for this position

Clean driving record for three years

Valid CA Driver’s license, proof of car insurance, and reliable transportation

Advanced English and Spanish proficiency preferred

Able to drive in different weather conditions longer than 30 minutes at a time
- Able to stand and walk for 3-4 hours

Council on Aging Services for Seniors is a private 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization which has been providing services for Sonoma County citizens over the age of 60 since 1966. The area’s beautiful surroundings, safe atmosphere, and senior housing have attracted over 137,000 older adults to this community. In fact, Santa Rosa is ranked 6th in the nation for cities having the highest population over 85 years of age.
While some elders may never require one of our service programs, many of these 137,000 seniors will come to rely on our help at some point in their lives. More Americans are living much longer than ever before, and as the” Baby Boomers” retire, the need for our services will be greater than ever.
