After-School Teacher / Group Leader

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Teacher / Group Leader to join our team. This role involves supervising and engaging children in a safe, nurturing, and educational environment after school hours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, strong classroom management skills, and experience in early childhood education or related fields. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on students’ development while fostering a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills
  • Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement
  • Assist with homework help, tutoring, or educational activities tailored to various age groups
  • Implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with developmental standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized activity area and ensure all safety protocols are followed
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and concerns
  • Support children in extracurricular activities such as sports coaching, theater, or arts and crafts when applicable
  • Provide first aid when necessary, following proper procedures to ensure child safety

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, babysitting, or childcare is highly preferred
  • Strong classroom management and behavior management skills
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification required before start date
  • Experience with special education needs or Christian counseling is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a positive environment for children of diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to engage children through creative activities like theater, sports coaching, or arts projects
  • Reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a safe and nurturing space for students

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
