Remote Estate Planning Attorney (California-Licensed)

Full-Time Contractor | 100% Remote | $50–$90/hour

About Bay Legal, PC

Bay Legal, PC is a modern, tech-forward California law firm built for scale. We focus on estate planning, probate, and real estate law — and we deliver legal services with clarity, empathy, and speed. We’ve built a remote-first, globally integrated platform powered by intelligent systems, offshore scale, and experienced attorneys. With team members across California, Latin America, and the Philippines, we operate 24/7 with excellence, transparency, and reliability.

Our 2030 vision is bold: to become the benchmark for modern consumer legal services — fast, affordable, and systematized. We’re scaling a platform that blends attorney oversight, tech automation, and cross-border operations to deliver world-class legal results without traditional bottlenecks. We’re not just building a law firm — we’re building the future of legal service delivery.

About the Role

We’re hiring a California-licensed Estate Planning Attorney to join our estate planning division as a full-time independent contractor.

You’ll handle a steady stream of warm, pre-screened clients, supported by an intake team, legal assistants, and proven systems that allow you to focus on consultation, client conversion, and high-quality legal work. This position blends legal expertise with consultative skill — ideal for an attorney who takes pride in guiding clients confidently through estate planning decisions and seeing them successfully move forward.

We prioritize outcomes over face time and use real-time KPI tracking to support performance, accountability, and growth. If you thrive in a fast-moving, high-performance culture built around ownership, systems, and results — this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct estate planning consultations via Zoom or phone with warm, qualified leads
  • Build trust and guide clients to move forward confidently with their estate plans
  • Draft and review estate planning documents including revocable living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
  • Use Interactive Legal to generate accurate, comprehensive documents efficiently
  • Collaborate with legal assistants and support staff to move matters forward quickly and accurately
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication throughout each client relationship
  • Meet and maintain key KPIs including close rates, turnaround time, document accuracy, and responsiveness
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through process feedback and collaboration

Who You Are

  • Active license to practice law in California (required)
  • 3+ years of estate planning experience, including trust-based planning and client consultations
  • Strong communicator who can simplify complex concepts and guide clients toward confident decisions
  • Skilled at consultative conversations and client relationship building
  • Proficient in Interactive Legal (required)
  • Comfortable working remotely in our Zoom Virtual Workspace and using tools like Slack, Asana, WhatsApp, and Google Workspace
  • Organized, self-directed, and results-oriented
  • Bonus: Experience in probate, real estate, or small business law is a plus

Our Core Values

  • Radical Clarity – We communicate expectations, timelines, and deliverables with honesty — even when it’s uncomfortable.
  • Own the Outcome – We don’t pass the buck. Every team member owns the file, the client experience, and the result.
  • Speed with Precision – We move fast, but not sloppy.
  • Systems First – We document, measure, and automate to scale repeatable excellence.
  • Earned Flexibility – You can design your ideal day — but results come first.
  • Coachable and Direct – We give and receive feedback without ego. One conversation is a gift. Two is a pattern. Three usually means a replacement.

Why These Values Matter

They aren’t just words. These values power our culture, support our team, and shape how we deliver for clients. They reflect:

  • Our commitment to a high-performance, A-player team
  • Our belief in global collaboration and seamless cross-border operations
  • Our focus on results — not busyness
  • Our vision to scale with structure, not chaos

Compensation & Performance

  • Full-Time Contractor Role: $50–$90/hour, based on experience, quality, and client conversion performance
  • Bonus potential based on consultation success, conversion rates, turnaround time, and effective use of our systems
  • No billable hour requirements — success is tracked via KPI performance
  • Long-term opportunities for leadership, growth, and firm-wide impact
  • This is a 1099 contractor position (no employee benefits)

Work Culture

  • 100% remote from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Flexible scheduling within a results-driven framework
  • Global team with 24/7 operational capability
  • Streamlined onboarding, training, and peer mentorship
  • Clear expectations, regular feedback, and performance transparency
