Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately document mental health conditions.
• Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma, including PTSD care and grief counseling.
• Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical research findings and best practices; adjust interventions based on ongoing patient progress and medical documentation.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance by securely managing medical records, medical terminology documentation, and electronic health records while ensuring confidentiality.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, case managers, and educators to coordinate patient care for individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or developmental disabilities.
• Engage in continuous professional development by staying current on ICD coding updates, CPT coding practices for billing purposes, and emerging trends in behavioral health treatment.

Requirements

• Fully licensed with the state you reside in
• Proven experience in clinical counseling or mental health therapy with a focus on behavioral health or social work.
• Strong background in psychotherapy techniques such as motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and addiction counseling.
• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering services remotely via secure video conferencing tools.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic classification; experience with CPT coding for billing is a plus.
• Ability to perform patient assessments, intake procedures, and diagnostic evaluations efficiently while adhering to HIPAA standards.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, geriatrics or individuals with disabilities including autism spectrum disorder; familiarity with special education settings is advantageous.
• Excellent crisis management skills for handling urgent situations involving mental health crises or behavioral disturbances.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology related to mental health conditions; experience with inpatient or outpatient clinic settings preferred.
