SNF Billing Specialist (Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care)

Job Summary:

White Oaks Nursing and Rehab is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SNF Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our revenue cycle department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing for Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care patients.

This position offers flexibility and may be performed either fully remote or in-office, depending on the candidate’s preference and experience.


Responsibilities

  • Submit and manage SNF/LTC claims (UB-04) for Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care payers.

  • Perform payment posting and reconcile payments to claims.

  • Identify and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments through timely payer follow-up.

  • Perform accounts receivable (AR) follow-up and take action to reduce aging balances.

  • Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for residents prior to billing.

  • Work closely with facility staff and clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies or missing documentation.

  • Maintain accurate records of claims submissions, follow-ups, denials, and corrections.

  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and payer billing regulations.

  • Assist with identifying denial trends and process improvements to optimize the billing workflow.


Requirements

  • Proven experience with Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long Term Care (LTC) billing.

  • Strong knowledge of Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, Medicaid, and Managed Care billing.

  • Experience with UB-04 institutional claims and SNF reimbursement processes.

  • Experience with payment posting, claims corrections, AR follow-up, and denial resolution.

  • Experience with long-term care billing systems required, with preference given to candidates familiar with National Care Systems (NCS), PointClickCare (PCC), MatrixCare, or similar long-term care platforms.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple claims and accounts simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills for working with payers, facilities, and internal billing teams.

  • Ability to work independently and maintain high levels of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
