We're looking for an experienced freelance videographer OR videographer/editor for our YouTube channel, who can match our current shooting and editing style for our weekly documentary-style episodes, featuring a tiny home tour, interview, and extensive B-roll footage.
This is for a 1-year contract with an opportunity to extend for an additional year(s). However, you will be paid for each shoot completed.
The contract would be for a set number of shoots (or shoots & edits ) within a 1-year term, but with a flexible timeline. For example, one month you could complete 6 shoots and the next month no shoots.

We want a friendly, professional, and communicative partner. The expectation is that you learn and master our style. Though we are open to your ideas, suggestions, and feedback.
Before the contract is signed, you will need to complete onboarding training and a test shoot (and possibly edit) to ensure that this is a good fit for all involved. Fair compensation will be provided for the test.

We need a shooter with location flexibility (living full-time or part-time on the road OR able to take multiple shooting trips, ideally with your own camper). If you have a fixed home base, a preferred location would be in the southeastern US.

Training & Support:
- Thoroughly review the provided example episodes, shot list, and other training materials; attend an in-depth Zoom call to discuss
- Depending on the distance of a shoot from your home base, additional compensation for some travel expenses will be provided
- We will supply lighting equipment and miscellaneous other gear, if needed
- We will reimburse you for any required printing or shipping
Preproduction:
- Coordinate with us about your availability, and then we will source subjects in the agreed-upon locations
- Attend a 30-minute Zoom call with a Tiny House Expedition rep and the subject
- Review the provided shoot guide (your quick reference guide for each shoot)
- Reach out with any questions or additional guidance needed ahead of the shoot
- Print personal release forms to bring with you
Production:
- Each shoot takes 6-8 hours
- Shoot components include a guided tour of the subject's tiny home, an interview, extensive B-roll footage (illustrative and lifestyle), and a handful of still photos for the thumbnail
- Ensure you have a physical or digital copy of the master shot list and shoot guide available for your reference during the shoot
- Engage with subjects in a friendly, personable, and professional manner
- Provide helpful direction to subjects to guide them through various aspects of the shoot (the goal is to make them feel comfortable while getting the footage you need)
- Call or text us with questions, concerns, or support needed!
Post-Production:
- Organize and upload footage
- Email completed release forms and invoice
- Review our feedback about footage (early on, plan to discuss on a call)
Preferred Experience
- At least 2 years of videography experience, like weddings, commercials, real estate, documentary, etc.
Required Equipment
- Digital SLR or mirrorless camera that can shoot 4k at 60fps
- Lenses, ranging from 15mm to 100-ish
- Monopod & tripod with video head
- Drone that can shoot 4k at 60fps
- At least 2 mic packs with wired lavs
Other Equipment (we can provide, if needed):
- Sound mixer
- On-camera LED light
- 60-100W LED light with softbox or octabank & light stand

Required Experience/Skills:
- Final Cut Pro X - at least 2 years of experience
- Motion graphics & titles
- Audio editing
- Color correcting
Job Duties Include:
- Import footage and hard drive organization
- Edit full episodes through necessary rough and refined drafts
- Review and address our feedback
- Upload the approved final draft
Training & Support:
- Thoroughly review the provided example episodes, editing guidance information, and other training materials; attend an in-depth Zoom call to discuss.
- We will provide access to subscription services, including Dropbox, Epidemic Sound, MotionArray, Frame, Resilio, etc.
