As a Rental Tool Dispatcher, you will work closely with customers, shop personnel, and operations leadership to coordinate rental tool availability and support efficient service center operations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the success of drilling operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, operational reliability, and customer responsiveness.

About the Role

The Rental Tool Dispatcher serves as the primary liaison between NTS Amega West and its customers, coordinating rental drilling tool requests and supporting daily operations at the Broussard facility.

This role is responsible for managing customer inquiries, confirming rental tool availability, coordinating schedules with shop personnel, and ensuring clear communication between customers and internal teams.

The dispatcher plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by ensuring rental tools and equipment are properly allocated, prepared, and delivered in accordance with customer requirements and operational schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Respond to customer inquiries regarding rental tool availability, specifications, and delivery timelines.
Review and process customer purchase orders and rental tool requests to ensure accuracy and alignment with operational capabilities.
Monitor rental inventory levels and coordinate with shop personnel to confirm equipment availability and readiness.
Communicate scheduling requirements with the Shop Manager or Shop Supervisor to ensure tools are prepared and staged according to customer timelines.
Coordinate equipment or material requirements based on customer needs and communicate procurement needs to the purchasing team when necessary.
Maintain clear communication between customers, operations, and logistics teams to ensure accurate scheduling and timely order fulfillment.
Serve as the central point of communication for dispatch activities, ensuring information regarding equipment status, schedules, and customer needs is accurately shared across departments.
Track equipment availability and assist in coordinating rental tool movement within the facility to ensure resources are available when required.
Remain available during designated on-call periods to respond to urgent operational or customer needs.
Assist with staging or accessing rental tools using overhead crane or forklift equipment when required.
Maintain accurate records related to rental orders, equipment tracking, and operational communications.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and QHSE Management System requirements.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support operational needs.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
One or more years of experience in dispatching, operations coordination, logistics support, inventory management, or customer service within an industrial, oilfield, or manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience coordinating rental tools, drilling equipment, or materials in a fast-paced operational environment is highly desirable.
Ability to use computer systems and software required for daily operations, including inventory tracking, order processing, and internal communication systems.
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate effectively between customers, shop personnel, and management.
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and prioritize operational requests in a fast-paced environment.
Basic understanding of supply management, inventory control, and equipment tracking processes preferred.
Willingness to participate in on-call schedules and respond to urgent customer needs when required.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead crane equipment or willingness to obtain certification.
Ability to work in a shop or yard environment and follow all company safety and QHSE procedures.
Experience supporting tool rental operations, drilling equipment coordination, or service center operations within the oil and gas industry is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) components such as stabilizers, drill collars, subs, and drilling efficiency tools is considered an asset.
